One deceased and two seriously injured in Stanberry accident

A 41-year-old St. Joseph resident was killed and two others seriously injured last night in a one vehicle accident four miles north of Stanberry.

According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Michael Shanks of Stanberry was southbound on Route B around 10:30pm when his vehicle went off the east side of the roadway. The vehicle came back across the roadway and hit a culvert, overturning his car multiple times, ejecting all passengers.

Shanks from Stanberry and 25-year-old Zachary Chesser of Savannah sustained serious injuries and were transported by Grand River EMS to Mosaic Life Care St. Joseph. 41-year-old Adrian Warner of St. Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Gentry County Sheriff's Department, Stanberry Fire Department, and Grand River Ambulance.
